Detailed description

The Small Pieces discovery pack for Baby from 8 months: 2 Carrots & Wholegrain Rice, 2 Mushrooms & Pasta Shells.

SMALL PIECES FOR BABY

To support Baby's growth and introduce new textures, Popote presents its range of organic small pieces made in France. Suitable from 8/10 months, these meals are perfect for lunch or dinner, letting little hungry babies enjoy every bite! At lunchtime, don't forget to add a little protein such as meat, fish or eggs (10 to 20 g per day) along with a drizzle of oil (1 to 2 teaspoons per day) or a knob of butter from time to time. In the evening, stir some fat into their textured purée if none was added at lunch — and that's all there is to it! Simply open the pouch, heat it in the microwave, and it's ready for Baby.

May contain gluten.

Everything you need to know about Baby's First Small Pieces

Frequently asked questions from our customers and community

At what age can Baby start eating lumps?

The first very soft lumps are introduced between 8 and 10 months. Then around 10 to 12 months, Baby can learn to chew real pieces of food, raw or cooked, suited to their age.

How can I help Baby discover new textures?

We gradually move from smooth purées to fork-mashed foods, then to melt-in-the-mouth pieces and finger foods, following Baby's own pace.

Should I add anything to Baby's small pieces?

Yes, you can enrich meals with a small spoonful of oil, a little butter or cream, and add the right portion of animal protein suited to their age.

Baby coughs or spits out pieces — is that a problem?

No need to worry: these are normal reflexes for learning to manage textures. The risk of choking is very rare if you offer soft, melt-in-the-mouth foods, avoiding hard or round foods before the age of 5.

Frequently asked questions from our customers and community

Can you freeze the products?

Our (delicious) little purées have been cooked and then sterilised (heated to a high temperature) to ensure their preservation.
You can freeze them without any problem by following a few guidelines (the ingredients may however lose a little of their flavour):

  • Do not place the pouch directly in the freezer, as its structure may be affected by freezing.
  • Pour them into a suitable container first (an ice cube tray, for example), or cook them before freezing.
  • Never refreeze a product that has already been defrosted.

Parent tip: use our little pouches to cook recipes for your baby, then freeze them to keep them for longer!

Once opened, how long does the pouch keep?

Once opened, fruits, vegetables and yogurt-style pouches keep for 48 hours in the fridge, and 36 hours for little meals and meat/fish. And of course, you can freeze the rest of your pouches by pouring them into an ice cube tray — perfect for making handy little portions ready to whip out when Baby is hungry.

Should you add fat to your products?

There is no added fat in our pouches (except in the complete little meals).
And as you might expect, fat is essential for Baby! You can therefore add one teaspoon of oil per day between 4 and 12 months, and 2 teaspoons between 12 and 36 months, into the purée after warming it up.

Can you warm up the pouches?

Just like glass baby food jars, our pouches can be warmed up. At Popote, we recommend pouring the contents of your pouches into a suitable container before heating in the microwave or in a bain-marie. Make sure to check the temperature of the food before giving it to your baby.
WARNING: never put the pouch directly in the microwave. Never store a pouch whose contents have already been warmed up in its packaging.
