Detailed description

WHY SHOULD YOU INTRODUCE ALLERGENS?

Because we now know that the earlier you introduce commonly allergenic foods alongside the start of weaning, the more you reduce the risk of a child developing an allergy later in life.

THE RECOMMENDATION?
A GRADUAL AND REGULAR INTRODUCTION

We take it step by step! We introduce allergenic foods one at a time, starting with small amounts, to get Baby used to them and make sure there's no reaction.
Once a food has been introduced, it's important to offer it regularly in Baby's diet throughout childhood — ideally twice a week.
If Baby has severe eczema or if you have any doubts, it's best to discuss this with your paediatrician or allergist without delay.
Since we're not exactly almond experts ourselves, we thought it was worth introducing you to Dalipo.

DALIPO'S SOLUTION FOR INTRODUCING PEANUTS AND TREE NUTS

Dalipo makes life easier for parents by helping them introduce allergens into Baby's diet in an optimal and controlled way.
Whether through a ready-made programme for a gradual and regular introduction, or starter kits to get going: almond, cashew, peanut, or hazelnut.
Each day, simply season one of Baby's meals with a little sachet — and that's it! Easy, right?
The bonus: each sachet contains the teaspoon of vegetable oils Baby needs every day!

Usage tips

  • Before opening, store the cartons at room temperature. If needed, keep refrigerated for up to one week after opening. To preserve all the product's qualities, pour just before serving.
  • Shake, open, enjoy: on its own or as a dressing, sweet or savoury — the choice is yours! Please note that each carton provides one teaspoon of added oil to support your baby's healthy development.
  • Keep out of reach of babies: do not let your child play with it. Do not put the carton in the microwave. Not suitable for people diagnosed with a nut allergy.
  • Don't forget to recycle. Separate the components before sorting. The box and the cartons can go straight into the recycling bin.

Frequently asked questions from our customers and community

Why should allergens be introduced during weaning?

Introducing allergens from the start of weaning (4/6 months) helps reduce the risk of allergies in Baby later on.

Which allergens should you introduce first?

Start with the ones your baby is likely to encounter regularly and that you eat at home: eggs, gluten, tree nuts, peanuts, fish and milk.

Should allergens be given regularly?

Yes, regularity is super important! Once a food has been introduced, it's considered part of your baby's diet — so go ahead and offer it 1 to 2 times a week.

What are the signs of an allergic reaction in Baby?

Worth keeping in mind: it's often rare, and it can show up as: red patches, hives, vomiting, diarrhoea, coughing, or a slightly swollen throat. If in doubt, contact your doctor or emergency services.

Frequently asked questions from our customers and community

Can you freeze the products?

Our (delicious) little purées have been cooked and then sterilised (heated to a high temperature) to ensure their preservation.
You can freeze them without any problem by following a few guidelines (the ingredients may however lose a little of their flavour):

  • Do not place the pouch directly in the freezer, as its structure may be affected by freezing.
  • Pour them into a suitable container first (an ice cube tray, for example), or cook them before freezing.
  • Never refreeze a product that has already been defrosted.

Parent tip: use our little pouches to cook recipes for your baby, then freeze them to keep them for longer!

Once opened, how long does the pouch keep?

Once opened, fruits, vegetables and yogurt-style pouches keep for 48 hours in the fridge, and 36 hours for little meals and meat/fish. And of course, you can freeze the rest of your pouches by pouring them into an ice cube tray — perfect for making handy little portions ready to whip out when Baby is hungry.

Should you add fat to your products?

There is no added fat in our pouches (except in the complete little meals).
And as you might expect, fat is essential for Baby! You can therefore add one teaspoon of oil per day between 4 and 12 months, and 2 teaspoons between 12 and 36 months, into the purée after warming it up.

Can you warm up the pouches?

Just like glass baby food jars, our pouches can be warmed up. At Popote, we recommend pouring the contents of your pouches into a suitable container before heating in the microwave or in a bain-marie. Make sure to check the temperature of the food before giving it to your baby.
WARNING: never put the pouch directly in the microwave. Never store a pouch whose contents have already been warmed up in its packaging.
