Detailed description

Pack of 6 Popote stage 2 follow-on formulas

Follow-on formula covers Baby's essential needs between 6 and 12 months.

Baby has specific needs to grow and develop well. We move on to stage 2 follow-on formula when Baby has at least one complete meal a day without milk.

Please note: even if Baby is well into weaning, milk remains essential in Baby's diet.

If Baby is really well established with weaning, you can move on to stage 3 milk from 10 months (hello Popote Organic Growing-Up Milk), otherwise stay on stage 2 follow-on formula until 12 months. No need to panic — every baby goes at their own pace!
Popote follow-on formula is made from organic farming, produced in France with French cow's milk and contains no palm oil. Palmitic acid is provided by milk cream. It is also suitable as a supplement and/or alongside breastfeeding, like all other baby formulas.
The Popote baby formula range — we designed it to be fuss-free and unpretentious, standing alongside all kinds of parenthood, just like all our products.

Where do our ingredients come from?

91.1% are French (including the collected milk), 8.6% are European, and we source 0.3% of our ingredients from a little further afield — because the expertise needed simply doesn't exist in France or Europe.

The analyses of our infant milks

Every batch of infant formula undergoes hundreds of analyses following a very strict and highly regulated quality control plan. Find the analyses for each batch here.

Usage tips

  • IMPORTANT: never heat the bottle in the microwave (it burns!) and follow each preparation step carefully for Baby's health.
  • Before each use, wash everything: the bottle, the teat, and your hands! Pour the required amount of water into the bottle (we recommend demineralised water — max 40°C)
  • Add the corresponding number of level scoops 1 scoop = 30mL of water
  • Close the bottle and shake vigorouslySHAKE SHAKE SHAKE! Check the temperature on the inside of your wrist
  • The bottle must be prepared just before feeding and can only be kept for 1 hour. Only use the scoop included in this box — it's got everything going for it. Remember to close the box properly and store it in a dry place (max 4 weeks after opening).

Important notice

Breast milk is the very best thing for Baby — we'll always be the first to say so.

The WHO recommends it exclusively until 6 months.

But at Popote, we also believe there are 1,000 ways to be a parent. So if you don't want to or can't breastfeed, we're here for you too. Popote organic stage 1 infant formula is also suitable as a complement to or replacement for breastfeeding, just like all other infant formulas.

Frequently asked questions from our favourite parents

Is it important to give Baby stage 2 follow-on formula?

Between 6 and 12 months, even once weaning has begun, breast milk (or follow-on formula) remains Baby's main food. If you do not wish to or cannot breastfeed, stage 2 follow-on formula provides the essential nutrients — including micronutrients such as iron, calcium, DHA, and vitamins — that puréed foods do not yet fully cover.

What is the difference between stage 1 and stage 2 formula?

Stage 1 formula is designed for 0–6 months. Stage 2 formula takes over from 6 months: the nutrient proportions evolve to suit Baby's age, needs, and the start of weaning. If Baby takes a little longer to accept purées, there's no need to worry about continuing stage 1 formula a little longer before moving on to stage 2.

When should you introduce stage 2 follow-on formula, and how much should you give Baby?

You move on to stage 2 follow-on formula between 6 and 12 months, once a full solid meal is well established. It remains essential: around 500 to 800 ml per day is recommended, that's 2 to 3 bottles. If Baby refuses, you can try different containers or offer suitable dairy products — though these cannot replace a bottle of follow-on formula.

How do you transition from breastfeeding to follow-on formula?

The transition happens step by step: first get Baby used to the container (the bottle or cup) with expressed breast milk, then gradually introduce the content by mixing breast milk and follow-on formula at the start. If Baby turns their nose up at the formula, begin the meal with a bottle rather than purées.

Parfait !

Everything you need to know about your infant formula

Frequently asked questions from our favourite parents

What is Popote infant formula?

Popote infant formula is a no-nonsense, straightforward formula that supports all kinds of parenthood.
Our formula is:
SAFE: a clear and transparent recipe developed by an expert in organic infant formula.
CLEAN: caring for the planet — organic, made in France, and palm oil-free.
BY YOUR SIDE: and of course supporting all parenthoods and championing free and informed choice.

Is there palm oil in your infant formulas?

We have chosen not to include palm oil in our infant formulas. Fats and fatty acids are essential for your baby's healthy development. In our formulas, you'll find vegetable oils (organic, naturally) and milk cream — but no palm oil. Palm oil (rich in palmitic acid, a key component of breast milk) is, due to its overuse, a driver of deforestation in many countries.

Where does the cow's milk used come from?

The milk comes from cows raised in France on human-scale farms. The milk collected comes mainly from the South-West and the Massif Central, and on occasion from the South-East. The cows are fed primarily on fodder and grass and raised in accordance with animal welfare standards, following the rules of organic farming.

What is DHA?

DHA is an essential fatty acid found in breast milk that is added to infant formula. It is essential for the healthy development and functioning of the brain and eyesight. It is incorporated into infant formula through vegetable oils and fish or algae oils respectively. The addition of DHA to formulas became mandatory in 2020. DHA is naturally present in oily fish in the diet, and can also be of plant origin from the Schizochytrium algae.
