Usage tips

  • WARNING: do not heat the bottle in the microwave (it burns!) and follow each step of bottle preparation for Baby's health.
  • Before each use, wash everything: the bottle, the teat and your hands! Pour the required amount of water into the bottle (we recommend demineralised water — max 40°C)
  • Add the corresponding number of level scoops — 1 scoop = 30mL of water
  • Close the bottle and shake vigorously — SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE! Check the temperature on the inside of your wrist
  • The bottle must be prepared just before feeding and can only be kept for 1 hour. Only use the scoop included in this box — it's got everything going for it. Remember to close the box properly and store it in a dry place (max 4 weeks after opening).

Important notice

Breast milk is the very best thing for Baby — we'll always be the first to say so.

The WHO recommends it exclusively until 6 months.

But at Popote, we also believe there are 1,000 ways to be a parent. So if you don't want to or can't breastfeed, we're here for you too. Popote organic stage 1 infant formula is also suitable as a complement to or replacement for breastfeeding, just like all other infant formulas.

Everything you need to know about Stage 2 Follow-On Formula 400g

Frequently asked questions from our favourite parents

Why offer stage 2 follow-on formula to Baby?

Stage 2 follow-on formula complements weaning between 6 and 12 months. It remains Baby's main source of nutrition up to 1 year old. It provides proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, as well as key nutrients such as iron, zinc, vitamin D, and calcium — all essential for Baby's growth. Worth keeping in mind: breast milk is still the gold standard, so if you want to keep breastfeeding, GO for it.

Stage 1 infant formula or Stage 2 follow-on formula: what's the difference?

Stage 1 infant formula covers the nutritional needs of newborns up to 6 months. Stage 2 follow-on formula, introduced afterwards, adjusts the ratios of different nutrients to support Baby's growth and the start of weaning. And if Baby is a little slow to take to purées, you can continue with Stage 1 for a few extra weeks without any worry.

When should you introduce stage 2 follow-on formula, and how much per day?

The transition to stage 2 follow-on formula happens gently around 6 months. Between 6 and 12 months, Baby needs 500 to 800 ml of follow-on formula per day, spread across 2 or 3 bottles, alongside the introduction of solid foods.

How do you gently transition from breast milk to baby formula?

It's done step by step: Baby first gets used to the bottle or cup with expressed breast milk, then baby formula is gradually introduced — mixed with breast milk at first, then on its own. If Baby refuses the bottle, it's often easier to start the feed with the bottle rather than the purées, when Baby is hungry.

Behind Popote BIO infant formula,

we also stand for freedom of choice!

Breast milk will always have our deepest respect and we'll never stop saying it loud and clear — but there are 1,000 ways to be a parent and almost as many stories as there are babies.

WHAT'S INSIDE?

Breast milk is the best thing for Baby, and we'll always be the first to say it.

Popote's stage 2 follow-on formula for your baby

Stage 2 follow-on formula covers your baby's essential needs between 6 and 12 months.
Your baby has specific needs to grow and thrive. We move on to follow-on milk (stage 2 infant formula) when your baby has at least one complete meal a day without milk. Even if they are in the middle of weaning, milk remains essential in your baby's diet.

Between 6 and 8 months, your baby will have only breast milk or stage 2 follow-on milk for at least two of their four feeds, often in the morning and evening. Depending on your routine, the weaning meal can take place
in the evening. At snack time, in addition to the bottle, they can have a fruit purée or a biscuit.
From 8 months, keep one meal exclusively with stage 2 follow-on milk, often in the morning. You can add an extra spoon-fed meal if your baby isn't too tired, otherwise stick to 1 bottle with or without
cereals.
From 10 months, keep at least 2 bottles of stage 2 follow-on milk per day. You can also start introducing new textures, with small pieces. If your baby is really well into weaning, you can move on to stage 3 growing-up milk from 10 months (hello Popote Organic Growing-Up Milk), otherwise stay on stage 2 infant formula until 12 months. No need to panic — every baby goes at their own pace!

Popote stage 2 follow-on milk is made from organic farming, produced in France with French cow's milk and contains no palm oil.
Palmitic acid is provided by milk cream. It is also suitable as a complement and/or alternative to breastfeeding, like all other infant formulas.

Our range of Popote infant milks was designed to be fuss-free and unpretentious, standing alongside all kinds of parenthood — just like all our products.

Everything you need to know about your infant formula

Frequently asked questions from our favourite parents

What is Popote infant formula?

Popote infant formula is a no-nonsense, straightforward formula that supports all kinds of parenthood.
Our formula is:
SAFE: a clear and transparent recipe developed by an expert in organic infant formula.
CLEAN: caring for the planet — organic, made in France, and palm oil-free.
BY YOUR SIDE: and of course supporting all parenthoods and championing free and informed choice.

Is there palm oil in your infant formulas?

We have chosen not to include palm oil in our infant formulas. Fats and fatty acids are essential for your baby's healthy development. In our formulas, you'll find vegetable oils (organic, naturally) and milk cream — but no palm oil. Palm oil (rich in palmitic acid, a key component of breast milk) is, due to its overuse, a driver of deforestation in many countries.

Where does the cow's milk used come from?

The milk comes from cows raised in France on human-scale farms. The milk collected comes mainly from the South-West and the Massif Central, and on occasion from the South-East. The cows are fed primarily on fodder and grass and raised in accordance with animal welfare standards, following the rules of organic farming.

What is DHA?

DHA is an essential fatty acid found in breast milk that is added to infant formula. It is essential for the healthy development and functioning of the brain and eyesight. It is incorporated into infant formula through vegetable oils and fish or algae oils respectively. The addition of DHA to formulas became mandatory in 2020. DHA is naturally present in oily fish in the diet, and can also be of plant origin from the Schizochytrium algae.
