Detailed description

The Textured Purée Discovery Pack for babies from 8 months

To support you as your baby grows and introduce new textures, Popote presents its organic textured purées, made in France. Perfect from 8 months. For lunch or dinner, little tummies just need to tuck in! At lunchtime, don't forget to add a little protein — meat, fish or eggs (at 8 months that's 10g per day) — and a small drizzle of oil (1 teaspoon per day) or a knob of butter every now and then. In the evening, add some fat to the textured purée if there wasn't any at lunch, and you're all set. Open the pouch, pop it in the microwave, and off it goes straight to Baby's tummy.

Usage tips

  • If the doypack has not been heated, it can be stored at room temperature and for up to 36 hours in the refrigerator after opening. It can be portioned and reused, provided hygienic storage conditions are maintained.
  • Designed to preserve the ingredients, this baby purée doypack is manufactured without bisphenol A in accordance with regulations and packaged under a protective atmosphere.
  • Let your culinary creativity run wild by creating your own recipes for your baby.
  • Don't forget to recycle. All our doypacks can go straight into the recycling bin!

Frequently asked questions from our customers and community

From what age can Baby start eating textured purées?

Textured purées are generally introduced between 6 and 8 months, after two months of smooth purées. This helps Baby gradually get used to more varied textures before the age of 1.

What signs show that Baby is ready for lumps?

When Baby accepts thick purées without difficulty, sits up straight in their chair and brings food to their mouth, you can start introducing soft, melt-in-the-mouth pieces or finely mashed textures.

Can Baby's purées be enriched with other ingredients?

Yes, you can add a small spoonful of fat (oil, butter, cream) and introduce proteins suited to Baby's age, such as meat, fish or egg.

What if Baby refuses new textures?

It's common and completely normal. Try again a little later, let Baby explore with their fingers, and regularly offer different textures and flavours to gently guide them along.

Frequently asked questions from our customers and community

Can you freeze the products?

Our (delicious) little purées have been cooked and then sterilised (heated to a high temperature) to ensure their preservation.
You can freeze them without any problem by following a few guidelines (the ingredients may however lose a little of their flavour):

  • Do not place the pouch directly in the freezer, as its structure may be affected by freezing.
  • Pour them into a suitable container first (an ice cube tray, for example), or cook them before freezing.
  • Never refreeze a product that has already been defrosted.

Parent tip: use our little pouches to cook recipes for your baby, then freeze them to keep them for longer!

Once opened, how long does the pouch keep?

Once opened, fruits, vegetables and yogurt-style pouches keep for 48 hours in the fridge, and 36 hours for little meals and meat/fish. And of course, you can freeze the rest of your pouches by pouring them into an ice cube tray — perfect for making handy little portions ready to whip out when Baby is hungry.

Should you add fat to your products?

There is no added fat in our pouches (except in the complete little meals).
And as you might expect, fat is essential for Baby! You can therefore add one teaspoon of oil per day between 4 and 12 months, and 2 teaspoons between 12 and 36 months, into the purée after warming it up.

Can you warm up the pouches?

Just like glass baby food jars, our pouches can be warmed up. At Popote, we recommend pouring the contents of your pouches into a suitable container before heating in the microwave or in a bain-marie. Make sure to check the temperature of the food before giving it to your baby.
WARNING: never put the pouch directly in the microwave. Never store a pouch whose contents have already been warmed up in its packaging.
