Detailed description

INTRODUCING SMALL PIECES TO BABY

After introducing Baby to a wide variety of tastes and flavours during weaning from 4/6 months, it's time to introduce new textures into purées. How do you know if Baby is ready for their first meals with small pieces? Smooth and thick purées are child's play for them by now. Baby holds their head and back straight in their chair and can bring food to their mouth on their own. So, from 8 or 10 months, you can start offering foods in the form of very soft pieces that squash between the tongue and the palate (between the fingers works too). From 10/12 months, you can give pieces to bite and chew — raw or cooked.

* Please note: no small, round, hard foods before the age of 5. Cut grapes in half, for example.

SMALL PIECES FOR BABY

Discover our organic Carrot and Wholegrain Rice purée, cooked, mashed and carefully prepared in France. A delicious meal that Baby will love, helping them discover new textures: small pieces from 8/10 months. At lunchtime, you can complement the Popote with a little protein such as meat, fish or eggs (between 10 and 20g/day) and 1 to 2 teaspoons of fat per day. Or a knob of butter in the evening if they didn't have any at lunch. Easy! Simply pour the contents of the pouch into a suitable container, pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds and off it goes — straight to Baby's tummy!

And to mix things up with flavours and textures, discover our other small pieces recipe: Mushrooms and Pasta Shells!

Usage tips

  • Store at room temperature before opening.
  • Pour the contents of the pouch into a suitable container, or open the pouch 2 cm and place it in the microwave for 30 seconds on medium power (600 Watts). Stir well and check the temperature before giving to Baby. The pouch may be hot — handle with care.
  • The pouch can be kept in the fridge for 48 hours after opening in a suitable container.
  • Pouch designed to preserve the ingredients, manufactured without bisphenol A in accordance with regulations.

Frequently asked questions from our favourite parents

When should you introduce small pieces to Baby?

Around 8/10 months, it's time for very soft lumps that squash between the tongue and the palate. Around 10/12 months, proper pieces to bite and chew with the teeth, raw or cooked.

How to gradually vary textures?

You can blend less finely, mash with a fork, then introduce melt-in-the-mouth pieces or finger foods depending on Baby's age and appetite. Start with Textured Purées, then Small Pieces, for example.

Should the Small Pieces be enriched with other ingredients?

It's a good idea to add a little fat (oil, butter, cream) to the Small Pieces, along with protein suited to Baby's age (10 to 20g per day).

Worried about choking? Here are some tips.

Bear in mind that when a baby coughs or spits something out, it's often a normal reflex as they learn to manage lumps. The risk of choking is very low and extremely rare when soft, melt-in-the-mouth foods are offered. No small, round, hard foods before the age of 5 (cut grapes in half!)

Frequently asked questions from our favourite parents

Can the products be frozen?

Our (delicious) little purées have been cooked and then sterilised (heated to a high temperature) to ensure their preservation.
You can freeze them without any problem by following a few guidelines (the ingredients may however lose a little of their flavour):
– Do not place the pouch directly in the freezer, as its structure may be affected by freezing.
– Pour the contents into a suitable container beforehand (an ice cube tray, for example) or cook them before freezing.
– Never refreeze a product that has already been thawed.
Parent tip: use our little pouches to cook recipes for your baby, then freeze them to keep them for longer!

Once opened, how long does the pouch keep?

Our baby pouches can be kept in the fridge for up to 48 hours for fruit, vegetables and yogurt-style pouches, and up to 36 hours for meat, fish and ready meal pouches, provided they are stored hygienically and with the cap properly closed.

Should you add fat to your products?

There is no added fat in our pouches (except in the complete little meals).
And as you might expect, fat is essential for Baby! You can therefore add a teaspoon of oil per day between 4 and 12 months, and 2 teaspoons between 12 and 36 months, into the purée after warming it up.

My baby is allergic to cow's milk protein

None of our pouches contain any trace of cow's milk protein, except for our plain yogurt, vanilla yogurt, porridge, our meal pouches and possibly our beef and veal pouches.
But don't panic! We've thought of everything with our plant-based yogurts: maximum discovery with the Oat-Apple and Coco-Banana for babies with CMPA (please note, they contain little calcium).
Psst, all our machines are cleaned before each new production run, so there's no risk of cross-contamination.
