Where do our ingredients come from?

93.7% are French (including the collected milk), 5.9% are European, and we source 0.4% of our ingredients from a little further afield, as the required expertise doesn't exist in France or Europe.

Usage tips

  • WARNING: do not heat the bottle in the microwave (it burns!) and follow each step of bottle preparation for Baby's health.
  • Before each use, wash everything: the bottle, the teat and your hands! Pour the required amount of water into the bottle (we recommend demineralised water — max 40°C)
  • Add the corresponding number of level scoops 1 scoop = 30mL of water
  • Close the bottle and shake vigorously — SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE! Check the temperature on the inside of your wrist
  • The bottle must be prepared just before the feed and can only be kept for 1 hour. Only use the scoop included in this box — it's got everything going for it. Remember to close the box properly and store it in a dry place (max 4 weeks after opening).

Important notice

Breast milk is the best thing for Baby — we'll always be the first to say it.

The WHO also recommends it exclusively up to 6 months.

But at Popote, we also believe there are 1000 ways to be a parent. So if you don't wish to or cannot breastfeed, we're by your side too. Popote organic stage 1 infant formula is also suitable as an alternative to and/or alongside breastfeeding, just like all other infant formulas.

The Ebook about milk and babies (in french)

We could have turned it into a podcast, or even a full documentary,
but we thought we'd start
by creating a magazine to tell you all about "Milk & Babies".
⁣
This magazine is the one we would have loved to have
to help us find our way: breast milk, infant formula, expressing milk, mixed feeding or induced lactation…
Milk from every angle, because there are 1000 ways to be a parent.

Everything you need to know about Stage 1 Infant Formula 800g

Frequently asked questions from our favourite parents

What is the difference between breast milk and stage 1 infant formula?

Breast milk is the best thing for Baby. Tailor-made for Baby, with all the nutrients, vitamins, minerals and a wealth of living cells: antibodies, anti-allergens, enzymes... Stage 1 infant formula is cow's milk reformulated to match the nutrient proportions of breast milk, allowing Baby to be fed and to grow.

What's the difference between baby formulas?

They all look alike in the sense that they comply with strict regulations (and that's a very good thing). There's little room for manoeuvre for manufacturers. The formulas can have a slight effect on Baby's digestion, so it really depends on them. And for the rest, it comes down to personal convictions (organic, palm oil-free or not, made in France or not...).

How do you transition between two baby formulas?

Start by mixing a large amount of the old baby formula with a little of the new one, then go fifty-fifty, then a little of the old and a lot of the new... to gradually get Baby used to the potentially different taste of the new baby formula — all over the course of one week.

Is it a transition milk from breastfeeding?

Yes, like all baby formulas. The term "transition milk" is not regulated, so anyone can use it. Bear in mind that there is 1,000 times more difference between breast milk and baby formula than there is between any two baby formulas.

breastfeeding a baby

Behind Popote BIO infant formula,

it's also free choice that we stand for!

Breast milk will always be in a league of its own — and we'll always say so loud and clear — but there are 1000 ways to be a parent and almost as many stories as there are babies.

WHAT'S IN IT?

Breast milk is the best thing for Baby, and we'll always be the first to say it.

Baby's diet from 0 to 6 months

Up to 4 months, Baby drinks milk, and only milk. But not just any milk!
Breast milk is an absolutely incredible ingredient, just like the body that produces it. No infant formula can come close.
If you need advice or things aren't going quite as you imagined, you're not alone, Mama.
Having support is part of the journey. You can get in touch with a lactation consultant (ideally an IBCLC consultant = international certification), an association or even some wonderful groups of mums on social media.

From 4 months, you can gradually begin to introduce solid foods and start weaning, even though milk remains the main ingredient in your baby's diet. The right pace? It's yours.

At Popote, we know there are 1,000 ways to be a parent.
If you are unable to or choose not to breastfeed, Popote Stage 1 infant formula is organic, made in France with French cow's milk and no palm oil.
It is also suitable as a supplement and/or alternative to breastfeeding, like all other infant formulas.

Everything you need to know about my infant formula

Frequently asked questions from our favourite parents

What is Popote infant formula?

Popote infant formula is a no-fuss, straightforward formula that supports every type of parenting.
Our formula is:
SAFE: a clear and transparent recipe developed by an expert in organic infant formula.
CLEAN: caring for the planet — organic, made in France, and palm oil-free.
BY YOUR SIDE: and of course supporting all parenting styles, championing free and informed choice.

Is there palm oil in your infant formulas?

We have chosen not to include palm oil in our infant formulas. Fats and fatty acids are essential for Baby's healthy development. In our formulas, you'll find vegetable oils (organic, of course) and cream from milk — but no palm oil. Indeed, palm oil (rich in palmitic acid, an essential component of breast milk) is responsible for deforestation in many countries due to its overuse.

Where does the cow's milk come from?

The milk comes from cows raised in France on human-scale farms. The milk collected comes mainly from the South-West and the Massif Central, and on occasion from the South-East. The cows are fed primarily on fodder and grass and are raised with respect for animal welfare, in accordance with organic farming standards.

What is DHA?

DHA is an essential fatty acid found in breast milk, which is added to infant formula. It is essential for the healthy development and functioning of the brain and eyesight. It is added to infant formula through vegetable oils and fish or algae oils respectively. The addition of DHA to formulas became mandatory in 2020. DHA is naturally present in oily fish in the diet; it can also be of plant origin, derived from the Schizochytrium algae.
